When performing a mail merge in Word, there are spaces between the lines in
the address fields (which comes from an XL spreadsheet data source).

I need to eliminate the spaces between the lines, of course.

Thanks,
Chris

Format the address with a style that doesn't have inter-paragraph spacing.

Thank you. How do I do that?

Select everything in the mailmerge main documnet and then from the Format
menu, select Paragraph and set the Space Before and the Space After the
paragraphs to 0 and set the Line Spacing to Single.

I found that if instead of using the address block, if i Merged one field in
at a time it came out without the double spaces. (By using SHIFT>Enter after
each field insted of just enter, which would result in a double space. I
figured this out before your response. I will try your solution next time!
Thank you very much
