The script might also work for Entourage 2008; have you given it a try?

File --> Export select Items to an Entourage archive --> Items that are in
the category --> select category --> Local Contacts.

If it's a selection, just add a category to the selected contacts and use
this to export. You could create a category "export." After the export, sort
by "export" and deselect.

If only this would work. i need to export to excel, not an Entourage archive. I wish excel could import an Entourage archive.

I wish excel could import an Entourage archive.

That's easy but requires an extra step.

1) export as Entourage archive (.rge)
2) create a new Identity
3) import the Entourage archive (.rge)
4) Now you can export as tab delimited for Excel

How do I create a new identity in Entourage? I've looked through the help and cannot find it. Thanks,
JZ

Also, can you please add the direct functionality in future versions?

I would like to be able to do something similar to the above, but export addresses based on a Group. The suggested solution seems like a lot of unnecessary steps.
I would also like the option of exporting to a .csv file instead of .txt

Entourage does not handle groups well. The steps outlined above is the only
way. Once you get the group into a new blank Identity where there are no
other contacts, you can export as tab delimited for Excel. Excel can then
save as .csv.

Sorry there is no easy way.
