need to match up a column of #s to another column of #s

I have a master inventory list that shows all serial #s of a particular item.
I also have aprox 70 smaller lists that I have to go through one by one and
check off its coresponding # on the master list. So my question is, can I
match up say the "master column" to a columnn of one of the other lists or
can I align each corresponding number in a row?
