The best thing to do would be to buy MacLinkPlus
<
http://www.dataviz.com/products/maclinkplus/index.html>, if you need to
open such files on a regular basis.
If you only need to do this once, you should try to get access to a Windows
computer with Microsoft Word, as the Windows version is capable of opening
WP files; I'm not sure about the Works files, though. Other solutions for
opening the WP files on a Mac (running OS X): try Nisus Writer Express
<
http://www.nisus.com>, for which there is a trial version, or try NeoOffice
<
http://www.neooffice.org/>, which is a port of OpenOffice. Or, if you still
have Classic, or a Mac running a pre-OS X version, you might want to try
Corel WordPerfect for Mac, which you can find here
<
http://acmfiles.csusb.edu/corel/wpmac.html>. Since this is a rather old
program, I'm not sure if it can deal with the current WP file format.
Alternatively, you could run Works and WordPerfect on Windows in a Virtual
PC environment, but that's probably not worth it, unless you are already
using Virtual PC and have copies of WordPerfect and Works.
Hope this was helpful
