Help! I have a remote employee who can not open Excel anymore and I've run
out of ideas to try and help him. It's hard when you can't actually play
with the machine.
Here's the issue:
He ran out of disk space and I think he did a Disk Cleanup and deleted the
Office 2003 Setup Files.
He got back up and running and all of his Office products are working except
for Excel (He has Office 2003 Pro)
When he opens Excel he gets this error message:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the
source exists and that you can access it.
First, I had him go to Add/Remove Programs and try to run the Office Repair,
but he got the same error as before
Then I had him try the LISTool to recreate the installation source, but he
said that that gave him this error:
Error 0x8007006e
Then I had him run set up from his Office 2003 disks and run the office
repair from there, but it "Doesn't get that far. Backs out installation."
Would it do that if he didn't have enough disk space for the install? Or
would it detect that before it tried the installation.
I also gave him instructions on uninstalling just Excel and reinstalling it.
At the moment I'm not sure if he tried that and it did the same thing as
above, or if he hasn't tried that yet.
Is there anything I'm missing that might be a solution for this?
Thanks!
