Need to retrive contacts from external Maxtor drive

I had to restore my computer but had a back up on Maxtor extrnal drive. I
now realize I have lost a few contacts from my Outlook 2003 account. Is
there any way of retrieving them from my back up? I have searched for .pst
but do not find any separate files.
Thanks.

What software did you use to make the backup? That software should also be
able to restore from the backup. You'd need to review the help files for
that software, but, you'd want to pull the pst file and restore it to a user
defined location so that it doesn't overwrite the existing file. Then, just
File - Open the file and get what you're missing.

But otherwise, this isn't an Outlook issue yet.

If you are referring to contacts that were added between your backup to the
Maxtor drive and your loss, they are gone. It is a good practice to place
the .pst in a folder under My Documents so that it gets backed up.

Your contacts, your e-mail, your tasks, and your calendar ar all stored in
exactly the same file. If you restored that file correctly, you can't have
any missing data. How did you restore it?
