need to save documents w/ full name instead of m.wps, m.wps, etc.

I can name my documents "Mayflowers" -- will save as m.wps. If I name a
document "Money" - it will save as m.wps and ask if I want to save over
existing document?

I can rename the document with a full title -- why can't I save with a full
title?

Hi, Marie. This is usually caused by running Word in Windows compatibility
mode. Right-click on your winword.exe file, click on Properties |
Compatibility, and deselect compatibility mode.

Hi again, Marie. Since you posted your question in a Microsoft Office
newsgroup, I assumed you were using Microsoft Word. Upon re-reading your
question, I see you might be using Microsoft Works, in which case my
suggested solution might not work. You might try posting your question to
news://microsoft.public.works.win.
