need to speed up queries

i have an Access 2002 database of only about 6k records
but it is shared by two offices that are connected by a t1
line. the remote office has terrible response time for
queries, though i was able to redesign their forms &
improve speed by ~75%.
i am searching the web & MS KnowledgeBase to no avail. is
there any solution to this problem besides converting to
SQL Server?

Not really. You **___MIGHT___** be able to use replication to keep a
synchronized copy at the two offices. Check out the replication group for
further help.
