Aaron, Seems as though you could benefit from picking up
a book on beginning Access, such as the "Access 9X/2X
Bible," "Access 9X/2X Step by Step," etc. From what I see
in your post, you probably need to make at least four
tables for your data (publication names, contacts and
info., articles, and authors) to minimize data entry and
duplications. Then you have to set up primary keys and
foreign keys (relationships) in the tables, as applicable,
to be able recombine the data in various ways in queries.
The books above can tell you how to do all this far better
