We have Office 97 Pro on a Win98 machine. Also installed
is Office 2000 Pro. We sold our copies of 97 several
years ago, after removing it from all of our machines - or
at least we thought we had removed it from all of our
machines.

Amazingly, a new employee noticed that sometimes Excel
2000 opens and sometimes Excel 97 opens. Their Word icons
are the 97 style, while the Excel icons are the 2000 style.

Anyways - we want Office 97 off of our machine. We don't
own it anymore. BUT, we can't uninstall it without the
CD. Rather than format the hard drive and set the machine
up from scratch, does anyone know how I can remove Office
97 Professional without the CD? Is there a way to install
Office 2000 Pro so that it removes all previous versions
of Office?

Assuming both Office installations were to default folders, you might want
to check the excel.exe files within the office folder or folders. You can
delete any excel97 exe, whilst this will not remove any reg entries it may
help.
I dont believe you can remove the complete installation, other than with the
cd or manually identifying all files and reg settings, or a complete format.
