Need To Unsecure a DB

B

Bob Barnes

I have been asked to enhance an Access DB located 400 miles away.

I have been told the MDW doesn't work properly.

A copy of the DB has been sent to me. I tried to File - Import
the Objects but get an error message.

Any tips?

TIA - Bob

If it's been secured properly, then you either need the mdw or you need to pay
for some hacking software.

Rick _ Thanks for replying.

So...from Joan Wild...
You need to log in as a member of the Admins group. Give full permissions
to every object to the Users Group. Quit Access; ensure you are joined to
the system.mdw workgroup (use the workgroup administrator to do this). Open
Access, create a new mdb (you should get no login), and import all the
objects from your mdb. This new mdb will be unsecured.

If I get the MDW - I MUST get the Passwork for a Member of the Admiins
Group - Right ?? If I can't do that, any other options except Hacking?

Rick - OK, if I can't get an Admin Acct Logon & the Password....can you
recommend any "hacking" sofware that is used to get the "Secured Objects"
into another Unsecured DB?

TIA - Bob
