Need Web App to Search Inventory

J

John

I need some help in developing a web app that we can use on our company
intranet for doing simple inventory lookups.

I've got a single table of about 17,000 records. The fields are standard
inventory labels like product number, model, description, location, etc.

Ideally, I'd like to have a web app that allows searches using one or two
fields, and returns various bits of information from that record. Ex.: Enter
product number, and the app returns, description and location.

Simple idea, but my skills fall short of developing this. I know the basics
of Excel and Access, but I think this project is going to involve complex
forms and/or macros.... Something that I am weak with.

I would appreciate any help you may be able to provide. Thanks in advance!

If you plan on doing it on an intranet, you'll need something like an ASP
page to access the data in a browser. I think you'll find it much faster to
develop the app using Access forms on each workstation, and place the data
tables on the server.

Arno: The web link you provided is dead. I appreciate your intention.
Ideally, I'd like some advice or help in getting started, not to hire someone
to do it for me.

Thanks,

Link is not dead here at this moment...
It might be however that the link has been dead for a little while or so.
I don't see anything in particular in the stats, except that the website is visited again...
