Windows XP Home and Office 2003 on a desktop w/ a Wacom Pen Tablet model

Up until recently I was able to use Writing Pad and Write anywhere programs
residing on the Language bar successfully with MS Outlook and MS Word.
For some unknown reason the Writing Pad and Write Anywhere futures on the
Language Bar just stopped working. Microsoft Tech Support thinks it has to
do with SP3 but have no patch or work around yet.
Has anyone had the same problem and how did you fix it?
If the problem turned out to be irresolvable, what did you choose as an
alternative?
This is an important tool for me and need to get this functionality back.
Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
