Needs Customizable Default Numbering

G

Onenote desperately needs the ability to change default numbering. If for
instance I have "A." and I change the next level beneath it to "1." then go
back and make a "B." when I hit enter and indent one it doesn't automatically
enter "1." it creates an "i." so I have to constantly change the numbering
scheme while I'm taking notes. This is very time consuming and annoying.
There should be a setting in the menu where you can change it Globally, and
then it should keep any format changes you made while a particular folder is
open in your current session.

I'd agree your suggestions would be helpful for a power user or someone
who relies on numbering.

As a workaround in the current version, you can create the outline text
without numbers, then select the entire outline later and use the
Numbering Task Pane to apply you custom formatting to all outline
elements at the same time. This will not be remembered in your next
session, but doing this saves time by letting you concentrate on getting
the content created first, then formatting later.
