Negative amounts appear in brackets

When a formula produces a negative number, I want the
number to appear in brackets (not with a negative sign in
front of it). This used to be an option when I right-
clicked within the cell and choose the "Format Cells"
option. Under the "Numbers" tab I would
choose "Accounting" and negative numbers were displayed
within brackets. Then my computer crashed and I had to
install the program onto a new computer and this option
is not available.
Any ideas on how to rectify this problem without
uninstalling and reinstalling?

There's a windows setting you can change:

The way I'd get to in Win98 is:

Windows Start button|settings|control panel|Regional Settings
Currency Tab|Negative Number Format
