Negative numbers in red

We have a chart with a table below the chart. Wanted to
know if there was a way to make the negative numbers in
the table red with the positive numbers black.

It's a standard number formatting option in Excel 2002 on. AFAIK,
there is not a standard option with both a minus sign *and* numbers in
red but I expect a custom format might be possible. I have not tried
to do it.

Unfortunately, a chart data table has very limited formatting
capability. Instead, consider copy+paste link of the original data
into the region below the embedded chart. Format the pasted cells as
desired to give an aesthetic impression of the chart and cells being
one object.
