neither meeting owner nor delegate can update meeting

I have an Outlook 2000 ( sp3) client that has encountered this problem on a
particular meeting request: Neither the Delegate nor the calendar owner is
able to update the appointment - there is no 'Invite Others' button. This is
the closest I could find in MS KB , but we're running Exchange 5.5, so the
fix would evidently not apply.

Users cannot update meeting requests that are scheduled by their delegates.
Additionally, the delegates cannot update meeting requests that are scheduled
by those users.
