.net Framework 2.0

I have tried to upgrade to Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 three times. Each
time it breaks Outlook Business Contact Manager so that Outlook 2003 will
not open. It tries to open in safe mode and it still will not open. In fact,
it get stuck in a loop where it advises that Business Contact manager has
encountered a problem, asks to send error report, asks to try to open in
Safe Mode and then advises that Outlook could not open in Safe Mode and asks
if I want to detect and repair. Yes or No both cause Outlook to start over
through the same loop. I have to end process in Task Manager to get out of
the loop. Uninstalling Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 and a restore to before
it is installed fixes Outlook so it will open. Any ideas as to what is going
on?

You know that .Net Framework 2.0 does not replace earlier versions? You
need to keep all earlier versions that are needed by any applications.

Yes, I upgrades from the Microsoft Update site and did not remove previous
..net installs. It seems that on my machine, the only application that breaks
is Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager.
