net framework - can i remove??

After an automatic update re: NET framework last week my Outlook 2000 is
working sporadically. Can I simply UNINSTALL all NET framework programs from
my machine? I don't use them. But, do they in some way support the use of
my XP system or my basic MSOffice apps?
