Network Diagram views

Baggy

I have a plan with over 400 tasks which is split into a number sections.
When I view the plan as a Network Diagram it show all the task/subtasks from
start to finish of the Project. Is it possible to just to select what can be
displayed as a Network Diagram.
If so, I'd like to be able to (i) select particular tasks/subtasks e.g. line
40 to 70 to be shown only (ii) select a timescale e.g. 1 February to 1 April
to be shown only.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Baggy,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You can use Project/Filtered for.../More filters and choose from what is
offered.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Hi Mike,
I created a copy of the 'Summary tasks' filter, changed it to 'Summary =
No', but the Summary task didn't disappear. I didn't try it in the Gantt,
only in the Network Diagram view.
I find the display of summary tasks in the Network Diagram view very poor.
Best would be a line around the subtasks, but to show a summary as just
another task is less than helpful, to my way of thinking.
Look forward to trying any more ideas.

Hi Michael,

You can turn off the display of summary tasks in the Network diagram by
choosing, Format > Layout. Under Box Layout, uncheck Show summary tasks.
You could then use the Date Range... filter to filter only for a specific
date range of tasks.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Try Tools/Options/View tab and at the bottom, deselect the summary and
project summary check marks.
