Network Diagram

How do I filter a network diagram view to show only particular tasks...ones I
want to select to view? I have searched through previous Q&A's and have not
found anything specifically for what I need. I have scrolled through 'More
Filters', found where you could select a series of ID numbers, and now how to
view only summary tasks...all of which are not what I am looking for. I
simply want to be able to choose particular tasks to view.

Hi Noreen,

Probably the quickest way if you want to be able to specify which tasks
you wish to display is to set a flag on the task and then create a
filter to show only the flagged tasks. Below are step-by-step
instructions -- I hope they help and let us know if you have any
questions.

1. In the Gantt chart insert the Marked field into the table (left side)
by choosing Insert > Column and selecting the Marked field in the Insert
Column dialog box. This will insert the Marked field (column) in the
table. By default all the tasks are marked "no."
2. Select "yes" for the tasks you wish to mark.
3. Create a filter to show only marked tasks by going to Project >
Filtered For > More Filters ,New. Name the new filter as you desire (I
used Marked Tasks Filter). For the filter definition:
Field Name: Marked
Test: equals
Value: yes

You may select show related summary rows as you wish. Click OK to close
and save the filter.

4. Apply the Network diagram view and then select your new filter from
the filter drop-down list.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

One way is to insert a Flag field such as Flag1 and set it to Yes for each
task you want to see. Create a new filter that only shows tasks with
Flag1=Yes. If you have two different selections needed, use Flag2 for the
second report. Of course if you save the project, your selections are stored
for next time as well.

Thanks, Julie. I was in there previously, but was unsure how to use it. Now
that I have selected my tasks, I am trying to get them to print on the same
page. I can zoom my view, but when I then go to print preview it is still
too long for the sheet.

Hi again,

Please ignore my question about getting the view to print on one page...I
realized I already knew my answer.

You're welcome Noreen glad to have helped and thanks for the feedback.
I see from your later post you have resolved the issue with printing as
well.

Do let us know if we can help again.
