network issues....

I have a Linksys router model BEFSR41 that I successfully config to share
internet with my cable modem with Win XP Home and Win 98. However, I can't
config the two machines to share files. Any suggestions on a quick way to
network these two computers. Or, can someone provide me with a step-by-step
way. I have read website after website and the user manual with no success.
The help sections are not much help because I can't get it to work. I must
not be following something right.

I'm open for suggestions and advise.
