network office 97

Hi

which version of Office 97 do i need to be able to set it
up on the network? I have a version of Office 97 but do
not know if it is suitable. Can anyone help please?

Do i run setup.exe /a from a workstation on the network to
set it up on the server or can i run setup.exe /a from the
Server?

I am running windows nt4 Server and windows NT4
workstations.

How do i setup a password for users to be able to access
it or do i just get them to use their logon username and
password to get access and then map a drive?

What is the best way to set it up?

thanks

Hi Don,

Information on network setup for Office 97 is
in a file, netwrk8.txt on your Office 97 CD.

You can use any Office 97 CD and then run Setup /A
from a workstation and choose a server drive
location for the creation of the Office Admin Point.

You can use the Office 97 Network Installation Wizard
tools from the Office Resource Kit (ORK97), which also
contains the 'how to' and choices for doing a deployment
of Office 97 to the workstations including the permissions
you'll need for NT4 for MS Office 97 users. The ORK and
tools is available at http://microsoft.com/office/ork/home.htm

Note that MS no longer offers replacement/additional
CDs for Office 97
