Network probelems following auto update

Hi all. Our Access database runs off a local file server (a Buffalo
Terrastation) on our small office LAN. This has never caused any problems
until Access installed updates on two of our machines (so far) and no longer
allows those machines access to the database.

The error message reads as follows:

"Microsoft Access cannot open this file. The file is located outside your
intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open thefile due
to potential security problems. To open the file, copy it to your machine or
an accessible network location."

This is in Access 2002 and each computer having its own local copy is just
out of the question. It is only after the update that Access has been doing
this, and Windows (XP) seems to think all the network places on our LAN are
now on the internet.
I have tried to add a network place in access itself (at the bottom of the
new file pane) but none of the computer's actual network places show up... it
only accepts http addresses.
Can anyone help please?

This is normally the case, when you access it by IP rather then by names.
Adding your Buffalo IP to the trusted sites in IE should do it.
