I have created a database on a network that other users
cannont seem to completely use. It starts on a front page
with a few options(buttons) which are all basically the
same. When the users select one of the buttons it takes
them to another page with buttons that open forms to run
queries off a common data table. One of the forms is just
a straight query criteria entry that works. All the other
forms are multi-select list boxes. When the user pulls up
the multi-select list boxes they can select all the
criteria they want but when they click OK to run the query
they get a domain read only error. Could there be
something in the code that I am not doing right or is this
a network sharing problem?
If it is in the security does anyone know what all the
settings have to be? In the tools menu the options are set
to sharing enabled and like I said a form using just query
criteria works. When I right click on the database file
the company domain users do not have write privileges and
this is what I am thinking may be the problem. Giving
people full write privileges does not appear to be an
option so is there anyway to just allow them to write to
the query?
Someone already suggested splitting the database into
a "front-end" and "back-end" configuration and giving
everyone a copy but my boss says that too isn't an option.
