Hi all,

I have just put together a very simply db with Access
2002. We have two computers connected and I would like
the other computer to access Access (Grin), can this be
done if the other computer does not have Access on it. If
not is there a upgrade available for multi-users.
Thankyou in advanced for your advice
Regards

Sue,

No, unfortunately, both computers need to have Access
installed unless you own the Developers Edition of Access
which will allow you to create a 'runtime' version of Access
that can be distributed for free. I have a feeling that the
runtime option will be a bit complicated and maybe more
expensive than just having Access on both if you are just
talking about two computers and if Access is fairly new to
you.

If you do this, you may want to read up on 'splitting a
database'. Just for two users, it may be overkill, but it is
highly recommended for shared databases in a production
setting.
