Networking BCM 2007

We just purchased several MS Outlook 2007 w BCM. Our purpose being that we
can all access a local database on our existing network. This probably
should have been done before the fact, but I have some questions that I'm
hoping I could get some answers for:

1. Once MS Outlook w BCM is installed on our various workstations, will we
be able to all communicate with a central database?
2. I'm assuming that I will need to install a copy of MSO w BCM on our
server in order to do this, correct?
3. If we can do this (which is the main reason we purchased the software),
is it possible for our workstation Outlooks to automatically input contact
data from our emails into the central database?

I've got plenty more questions, but these are my basic ones that I need help
with.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

1>Yes , you will be able to connect to the central database (provided all
the users are in the domain /work environment )

2> Not necessarily , all you need on the server is a 32 bit version of SQL
2005 to be present . Once you have meet this requirement you can share out
the database using the BCM admin tool

3> all the workstation can update the Business contact data info on the
database ( I'm not sure what you mean by contact data from our e-mail )

I would suggest that you take a look at the Business contact manager blogs -

Yes all users can use 1 database. If you use the english office version,
this database can be put on the server (there is a special little program
which installs it on your server, forgotten the name). DON'T install outlook
with BCM on a exchange server, this might cause problems. Youy ca also use a
dedicated ordinary pc witrh outlook & BCM for sharing your database.

Thanks for the input. I'm no IT guy and, unfortunately, we are so small we
don't have one, so I will have to do some research on the SQL 2005.

As for the email data, I meant is it possible to save contacts automatically
to our database when sending an email to a new contact (or replying to one)?
I'm thinking there should be some sort of setting that would prompt the user
to save the contact when this occurs, correct?

Good to know that I don't need to load MSO/BCM onto the server since we did
not get an additional license for that station.
