I am trying to configure office to share macros in a large
environment but have run into several stumbling blocks.
Here is what I want to do
- Have a central area on a network drive where macros are
stored
- have all users access those macros for use
- have 3-4 users with write access to change/add macros
problem is the normal.dot cannot be shared like that, if
someone has word open on a shared normal.dot it locks it
into read only mode.
I realize that multiple .dot files can be created but that
is a very cumbersome way to work with macros, specifically
since we have close to 1000 macros right now (in Word
Perfect)
am I missing something? is there no way to easily share
these macros??
