New - Blank Document

When I open a NEW - BLANK DOCUMENT, the program does not
allow for pages subsequent to the first one to be
created; the file maintains itself as a 1 page document.

I can continue to type, but the text is not displayed and
can not be seen using VIEW.

Help. Thanks.

Make sure that the number of columns is set to 1. If you find that it is
not, change this in Normal.dot as described in
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm
