new computer

I am helping a friend buy a new computer. His current unit is Win98 with
whatever version of MSWorks was shipped with it. His new computer, I
assume, will have Vista. If he buys it with MSWorks suite I have two
questions: 1. Will the version of Word shipped in the Works suite be able
to read his old documents written in the Works word processor? 2. Will the
new Works be able to read his old spread sheets?

It should be yes to both questions. I say should be because sometimes s**t
happens but he should be fine.

I'm in the process of setting my new system up. I just finsihed transferring
some of my favorites. Don't need all of them.
