Buy another licence.

Well that's pretty daft now, isn't it? You should never lose/sell/give away
the qualifying product (indeed, it's a stipulation of the EULA) that you
keep the QP as its licence becomes, in effect, integrated into the upgrade
(think of it as the 'other half'). Because you no longer have the QP(s), you
are no longer entitled to use the upgrades.

I guess I need to clarify something. Everything that I didn't need was in storage, including old manuls disk/cd's, computer parts, etc and this time last year my storage burned down & I everything that was in it.

if you don't have sth to prove your license for the upgrade base (the old
version) then sorry, you can't use the upgrade ver.

If it was O2000 or later, you need to contact MS for replacements (you may
need some proof of original ownership). If it was pre-2000 then either ebay,
or if you can find someone with a qualifying product, borrow the CD (but I
didn't say that, it was my keyboard mistyping!).

So? My comments still stand - you don't have the original qualifying
products, ergo you're no longer entitled to use the upgrades. It doesn't
matter what happened to them, they're gone. Tough shit, Sherlock. The EULA
doesn't make allowances for fire damage.
