new copy of Normal.dot

The reason this is in this forum is because the App Errors
forum is not available - sorry for the misplacement.

My normal.dot template got corrupted. I tried the tips in
the mvps.org article
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm.
But the numbering and autotext did not work properly. I
copied a normal.dot file from another pc but the autotext
(page x of y) is not displaying. How do I get a good
version of normal.dot? (Next time I'll make a backup. . .)

If you rename Normal.dot, Word will create a new default one. For more, see
