I tried to publish yesterday from FP 2003 and the site would not publish. I
called both of my Web Hosting providers and was told that all new (ready to
be installed)and some current versions of their server software would no
longer support the FP Extensions. (cPanel and Direct Admin)
They said that if any host still has them, they won't when they upgrade
(their server software.) They said that since FP is no longer supported by
MS, that the licensing for the FPSE was revoked by Microsoft.
I googled this and sure enough, there is much info attesting to this on the
Web.
Do the MVPs have any info on this? Is it true?
Someone on the boards said that directly FTP-ing would break the site. Is
that true?
Does anyone have a list of what will not work in a site when you directly FTP?
If you don't use any of those things, can you continue to directly FTP?
Obviously, I am not a programmer. (I have Expression Web, but was
completely blown away trying to make a simple form.) I don't like EW at all;
the GUI is awful for novices and semi-novices.
I would appreciate any info, as I dread redoing all my sites in EW.
Thank you so much....and a million boo hoos.
