New Document

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

When I open Word, the "new document" is always a document I created when I was using the trial version. The trial version expired days before I downloaded Word, but I can't seem to get it to open a genuinely blank new document.

New documents are based on your Normal template. So you need to find
your Normal template, open it up, and delete the text from it.

Use File | Open to open your Normal template at
[username]/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User
Templates/Normal.dotm. Make sure to use File | Open from within Word.

Delete text, save, close--new docs should be fine.
