New Documents in Word 2000

Each time I open a new Document in word instead of
Document 1-- it now says Document 29 or 30, 31, 32 etc.
it never resets back to document 1 even after I reboot.
I'm up to a large number.

Hi Denise

This is probably an indication that you have a temporary file left over from
a previous Word crash. Try clearing all the temporary files out as described
