New e-mails do not appear in Inbox

Strange problem. I am receiving mails to inbox/Outlook 2007 (I see the
progress on the status bar). They arrive... And then, some of the new mails
do NOT appear. For instance, in the folders list it will say:

Inbox (9)

But there will only be 3 new messages in the inbox. All I have to do to get
the other 6 to show up is click on ANY other folder, click back on Inbox...
and they suddenly appear!

I saw somewhere else that this may be a conflict with an old version of
Google Desktop. But I re-installed a new version ... and even uninstalled
Google completely and this did not help.

Please help!

And your mail account type would be...?

All of my accounts are POP3... I had never seen this problem until I upgraded
to Outlook 2007 (from 2003). It happens with mails from all accounts (i.e. -
if it was just my Google account, I could understand!!!)...

Try it with a clean mail profile. This is highly recommended after an
upgrade.
