Add "ScreenTip" field to the list presented from main menu Insert|Field...

Field Code Format: {SCREENTIP "DisplayText" "TipText"}

DisplayText and TipText may be literal text or the result of an embedded
field.

DisplayText is the "result" of the ScreenTip field.
TipText displays as a ScreenTip when mouse pointer rests on field.

The ScreenTip field would be useful, for example, for providing brief help
to the user of a template that includes fields for displaying Custom Document
Properties.

I think you can do the same thing with a macrobutton field. Am I missing
something?

See http://www.addbalance.com/usersguide/fields.htm#MacroButton and

about macrobutton fields.
