New G5

I have a new G5 and am running 10.2.7. What version of Word for Mac
is appropriate for this OS? (My old Word 2001 won't work on this OS ).

Word X, with a bunch of updates downloadable from Mactopia.com (MS's mac
website). By the way, on Mactopia.com, there is a coupon to get Office 2004
for "free" ($25 S&H) if you buy Word X between now and 30 June.

I believe that the latest version of Office (word) is X.1.5

You need to update to X.3.2
