New hard drive... now outlook won't send/receive

I bought a new western digital 160g hard drive. i used WD's software to
migrate old drive (in laptop drive bay) information over to the new 160g
drive (connected to laptop via usb cable). All appeared to be well until i
opened outlook. It will not send/receive. It gives error message "the
operation has failed". You also get an error message when trying to do almost
anything from the drop down menus. Like Tools, Email accounts. or File, Data
file Management. If i put my old drive back in the laptop drive bay, it comes
up normally and operates normally. The western digital software supposedly
makes the new, larger drive just like the old one. But for some reason
outlook gives a lot of problems. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this.
is there some secret or hidden file i need to move over manually? Also, i
can't even run repair or uninstall office to re do it from scratch. Any info
is greatly appreciated.

Why can't you run a repair? If you have other Office 2003 programs
installed, you can run the repair from the Help menu of any of those. You
will need to have your Office 2003 CD handy.

Thank you for your response. I use office xp. I was able to run repair after
using the ms windows install cleanup util. But i still have the issue with
outlook not doing a send/receive. it still gives the error message "the
operation has failed" I could probably do an uninstall now and start from
scratch but i just find it hard to beleive they would write the program so
you can't upgrade hard drives. also if i did uninstall completely and then
install fresh, would i be able to reteieve my contacts and calandar data? if
so, i'll try that. Thanks you for your help !!!!!!! I'm getting very weary
using web mail. :)

NEW INFO... Repair didn't fix anything... I descided to try the uninstall /
reinstall and it did uninstall since using the ms install clean up utility. I
had come to grip with losing all my info. BUT, after uninstall and then a re
install, it retained my outlook information like contacts, calandar, and even
my email accounts and rules. All seems to be well now. Thanks you for your
help.

I'm glad that reintalling seems to have solved your problem...usually it
doesn't :) However, the reason it usually doesn't solve anything is that it
leaves a lot of its files intact when you reinstall it, including your .PST
file, which holds all of your data.
