New Infopath form against an existing SharePoint list

I have an existing SharePoint list which collects IT issues that users fill
in. This list has been running for a couple of months so there is a lot of
existing info I don't want to loose.

What I would like to do is enhance this list by using an Infopath form as
the user input.

Question: Can I create a new Infopath form and apply it to an existing
SharePoint list?

Good luck. If the list is supported generically through the "Sharepoint list"
iption for a data connection in Infopath - then it will be simple. If it
requires using the Sharepoint web services - we have been searching endlessly
for a simple solution to using Sharepoint web services in Infopath.
