New Install of Microsoft Project Server

Hi all,

I have been given the task of installing Microsoft Project Server 2007 onto
a test server.

1. Can anyone provide a step by step of the install?

2. Is there anything I should be aware of when installing it?

Thanks for your help.

There are many others that you may find useful. Also, Dale Howard as a very
good book called Implementing and Administering Microsoft Office Project
Server 2007 (http://projectservertraining.com/learning/courseware.aspx). I
highly recommend it.

Hi all,

I have been asked to investigate and demo the use of Microsoft Office
Project Server 2007 and have read through some of the Planning and
architecture for Office Project Server 2007 document.

I have found the document useful but hope someone can check my plans to make
sure im approaching this in the write way.

Hardware Requirements for Demo

HP DL380 - Application Server & Database Server

Software Requirements

Windows Server 2003 Standard
Office Project Server 2007
Windows Shared Services (Bundled with Server 2003)
Microsoft SQL Server 2005

Client Software

Internet Explorer
Office Project Professional 2007
Office Outlook 2007

Next Step

1. Build Server
2. Install Windows Server 2003
3. Install SQL 2005 or for this test I may use the SQL Express
4. Install Office Project Server 2007 (I guess this will install WSS at the
same time)

Features

Im a little unsure on this really as we already have a Moss/WSS setup I will
only using the new project features really rather than the WSS features.

• Proposals
• Project Centre
• Task Management
• Master Projects
• Time management (Maybe one for the future as we currently use another
product for this)

Users and User Types

To start with the Total Users/Concurrent users is going to be minimal maybe
only 5-10 for test but has the potential to be many more as the total number
of users is around 2000.

User Access Requirements

Internal with the possibility of Remote Access for internal employees.

Structure Planning

Im thinking this wont be that important for the initial demo setup as we
already have a structure for are existing MOSS/WSS environment and if the
demo is successful then it will just be deployed to the existing setup?
