New Install of Outlook 2007 on new laptop with Vista

I did an install. Opened Outlook. It was looking for Exchange. (Home
computer no exchange.) I clicked Offline hoping to get to a place where I
can set my email info.

Now when I open Outlook, I get this message:

"Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file ......\outlook.ost is
not an offline folder file."

When I click OK included wih the message, the application closes
immediately. How can I recover from this proplem. The outlook.ost file does
exist and is 0 kbs.

The only solution that I see is to uninstall, then install 2003, get it
running then do an upgrade.

Go to Control Panel - Mail and remove Exchange from the profile and put in
your POP information.

Yes. I did that. It did let me get into Outlook 2007. I still had
problems. Search this grouping for GenoJoe for additional information.

Ok, and, as far as I can see, Sue was helping you out. If her last set of
steps didn't help, you might want to let her know.

Good comment. Too many times I (and others) leave a topic thread without
some type of resolution. I just added a closing comment. It may help others
experiencing a similar problem. At least they will know they are not alone.
