New install of Project 2003 STD error

Tim W.

I just installed Project 2003 STD and a new copy of Office 2003 Pro. In both
cases I chose to "run all from the computer" All patches and SP's are
installed.

When I launch Project the S/W goes into a install routine. Amessage pops up
that says the feature you are trying to use is not available error and
"Access 2000 runtime error" It then ask you to insert a CD that contains the
Access 2000 Runtime. I have no Access 2000 CD. You can also browse to a
location for the runtime. I tried downloading the "light Access 2000 runtime"
from MS and pointing the browser to that location. I then get an error that
it is the wrong version.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

Why would I be getting a message for Access 2000 when no 2000 products are
installed?

Any ideas on how to fix?

I suggest you check your event viewer for possible errors and if you find
something relavent to your issue. Just go to google type the exact error
message you get in the logs and this should help resolve your issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. A look in the registry brought up two items:

WinMgmt Event ID 5603

A provider, OffProv11, has been registered in the WMI namespace,
Root\MSAPPS11, but did not specify the HostingModel property. This provider
will be run using the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged and
the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly
impersonate user requests. Ensure that provider has been reviewed for
security behavior and update the HostingModel property of the provider
registration to an account with the least privileges possible for the
required functionality.

MsInstaller Event ID 1001

Detection of product '{00180409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature
'AccessRuntimeMaster' failed during request for component
'{DD68FEE8-C369-11D1-A173-00A0C90AB50F}'

A search of Google produced some items to try. So far none of these items
have worked.

I am thinking the problem might exist with the users profile. I am able to
run the software under the admin log-in but not under the user log-in even
though the user has admin privedges.
