New installation - Very Slow Performance

I just installed Office 2003 Pro w/ OBCM. I imported 6600 contact's and
performance is very very slow.

Machine is a P4 1.7GHz with 512MB Ram and 60GB Hard drive that is 80% free
disk space.

Before I moved the contacts from "Contacts" to "Business Contact Manager
Contacts" moving through the list was fine. I'm not sure if BCM uses a
different type of database, but it takes 10-20 seconds just to open contacts
or accounts.

Is this normal?

I notice the processor spiking in Windows Task Manager when I interacting
with BCM.
