New Intel Core Duo & Unwanted Test Drive

I"ve just bought a Intel Core Duo; a neat feature was the ability to
transfer all my applications, preferences and documents from my old Mac
with just one click. I transferred MS Office 2004 to my computer in
this way.

Now when I attempt to open an Office document (with the program not yet
running), a MS Office Test Drive flash screen will pop up, demanding
that to continue with the Microsoft Office Test Drive installation I
must accept the EULA. Since I have no need for the Test Drive, I press
"Disagree."

On the other hand, if I first start MS Word, for example, I can
subsequently click on any document and it will open with my normal
version of MS Word.

I see lots of discussons about removing the Test Drive in this
Discussion Group; I also understand that the Additional Tools folder
gives me the option of removing Office 2004 entirely. That is a pretty
ham-fisted way of getting rid of a Test Drive that hasn't even been
installed.

I haven't seen any discussions about removing the Test Drive (or at
least getting rid of the flash screen) if one hasn't installed the Test
Drive yet. Is this possible?

Test drive probably came pre installed on your new laptop. You need to
follow the directions you already found about removing test drive.

Thanks, Bob -

This wasn't as brutal as I initially thought. I found that selecting
the "Remove Office 2004" button in the Remove Office program was not
the final irrevocable step in the process; once selecting "Remove," a
further dialogue box indicated that I could simply select the Test
Drive version to remove. Easy! I was able to keep everything else.
