..1. You never lose data when uninstalling an Office program, however to be safe, you can backup your .pst file -
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
2. I hope you burned your download to a CD! If you did not, then you can use Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->Microsoft Office->Change and select to add Outlook from there.
3. Burn your download to a CD and make a label with the product key to affix to that CD case - then store it in a safe place (no dogs or children!)

After furious head scratching, cuneo asked:
| 1. How do I back up my current files so I won't loose information? Do
| I need to?
| 2. How do I do a custom install if I purchased outlook on line and
| downloaded it online?

|||||| ||||||| OK, I've downloaded a 60 day trial of office standered 2007
||||||| which is supposed
||||||| to have outlook 2007 on it. When I try to open it I get the old
||||||| 2002 outlook. The other components are there, just not outlook.
||||||| What now?

|||||||||| You mean buy? I'd go for Outlook 2007. Is there any specific

||||||||||
|||||||||| You can download ActiveSync 4.5 which works with Outlook
