New Issue/Risk Assignment Notification

I understood that when a team member is assigned a new issue or risk the
team member is notified by e-mail.

I have a new installation and this does not appear to be the case.

Are team members and project managers supposed to receive notifications
automatically or must they set alerts for their issue and risks?

Where are these settings kept?

Matthew:

When you set up project server, you should have been
prompted for your SMTP server name. You can check this
configuration by going to PWA Admin...Customize Project
Web Access...Notifications and Reminders.

Once you have ProjectServer set up to send e-mails,
ensure the e-mail address is included for every user in
PWA.

Bear in mind that unless resources are in the Enterprise
Resource Pool and have been assigned to tasks in projects
from this pool, they will not receive notifications.
ProjectServer doesn't notify local resources. Also, your
PMs have to publish the project to send these
notifications. Simply saving the project won't do it.

Your reply seems to address TASK notifications. I am talking about ISSUES
and RISKS (WSS) notifications.

The publication process is not part of adding new issues and risks.

Do you know what the expected behavior is for issues and risks?
