Selecting an entire column and then shift clicking a cell in the column selects
everything above the clicked cell.

Is there a way to select everything *below* the clicked cell?

Sure would be a nice option.

That works because selecting a column also selects the cell in row 1.
Shift-clicking then selects the range between the active cell and the
cell you click on.

AFAIK, there's no way to select a cell and everything below it. You can
use CTRL-SHIFT-<down arrow> - if you're in the last filled cell in the
column, it will select down to the end of the worksheet (otherwise it
will select to the next filled/empty cell, depending on whether the
active cell is empty/filled). Successive uses of the key combo will
select down to the bottom of the sheet.

Not so sure it would be a nice option, but there is a workaround (in
addition to JE McGimpsey's comments):

- select your entire A:A column -- will select cell A1 in range A1:A65536
- type <Shift-Return> -- will select cell A65536 in range A1:A65536
- Hold the shift key and click in the expected cell...

Now, you have everything below the clicked cell selected. But I'm not sure
this will be such a nice/helpful option ;-)

Thanks. All a matter of taste :--)

Alternatively, this may work:

Start by selecting the cell (say E20 for now), then control-space to
select the column. This highlights column E, but with E20 selected,
not E1. Then go from there.

Hope this is helpful.

Interesting option. Now if I can remember it when I need it :)

Thanks
