New little Dell Inspirion Notebook

I want to load Microsoft office but I have it from my school on cd with the
activation key. School buys enough licenses for teachers to install at home
but since new little lap top doesn't have a cd rom drive I have no idea how
to go about doing this. Help? Anyone? please? Is it possible to copy to
portable hard drive and install it? I have no idea!
Any help would be appreciated.

Copy to external drive or a USB and install from there. You may want to
invest in a USB CD/DVD optical drive if you need to install additional
software like AV or Adobe Photoshop...
