New Machine w/ Office 2003 Trial - Access 200 Upgrade

Hi all -

I just purchased a new machine that came installed with a trial
version of Office 2003 Standard. I have a couple of questions:

I have Office 2000 (Small Business Version, I believe). Since I
needed Access, I purchased the Access 2000 upgrade. Now that I have a
new machine with Office 2003, it won't let me use my Access 2000 CD
because it's an upgrade to the previous version. Is there any way to
work around this so I don't have to spend additional money. (Don't
have it budgeted just yet)

If I do indeed have to upgrade, do I have to buy the Pro version, full
install, or can I get away with an Access 2003 upgrade CD until my
trial runs out? (At which time I'll activate said software).

Thanks for helping me find the budget saving solution.

That Trial copy of Office is not designed to be upgraded to a upgrade of
Office 2003, you must own or purchase a full copy of Office Professional
2003 to use the Access upgrade. I would recommend you purchase the upgrade
of Office 2003 Professional, if you want to upgrade from Access 2000, it
includes Access 2003.

If you just want to use only Access, you can purchase the upgrade to Access
2003 and upgrade from the upgrade of Access 2000. But if you want to
continue using the rest of Office 2003, you have buy a full version, if you
don't own a full previous version.

My recommendation would be to buy Office Standard 2003 full, and buy the
upgrade to Access 2003 since you already have Access 2000.

If you mean you can't load Access 2000 on the new machine because it is an
upgrade, you can, I believe, satisfy the "upgrade product" requirement by
inserting the CD of the prior version (e.g., Access/Office 97) at the
appropriate point in the Install. I can't be more specific than "appropriate
point", because I haven't done it this way since the days products came on
diskettes.
